Overview
The output state of a controller upon Power Up (when power is removed and restored) may be configured to be one of 4 options:
- Auto (default - depends on what is linked)
- State Memory (same state as when power was removed)
- ON (Normally Closed)
- OFF (Normally Open)
The default selection is "Auto" which selects one of: "State Memory", ON, or OFF depending on what devices are linked to the controller as follows:
- If any switches are linked, the controller uses State Memory which causes the On/Off state not to change. If the output was OFF in a bedroom when power was removed, when power is restored, the output will continue to be OFF.
- If no switches are linked, the Power Up behavior will default to ON (Normally Closed). If no devices are linked, the output will turn ON every time the power is cycled. Also, if either motion sensors or magnetic contact sensors are linked without any switches being linked, the output will also turn ON every time power is cycled.
Configuration
- If the default "Auto" behavior works for the application, no configuration is needed.
- If another option is needed such as there are switches linked and the application requires either power up ON or OFF, this can be configured using Advanced Setup mode using the push buttons or using either Navigan or Scan and Link Commissioning software.
